IBM and NASA release AI for lunar exploration
On September 10, IBM and NASA released an open-source AI model for analyzing lunar observations. Researchers can adapt it to their studies.
It combines data from different missions and instruments to study craters, volcanic features and possible ice, reducing the need to prepare separate datasets for every task.
The model identifies inferred features and candidate locations. The announcement does not mean that lunar ice mining or base construction has begun.
