Agility announces Digit 5 for warehouses shared with people
On September 15, Agility Robotics announced Digit 5, describing a design that detects nearby people and can avoid them or stop in factories and warehouses.
Early access is planned for the first half of 2027 and wider availability for year-end. Safe operating conditions will still need checking at each workplace.

Wider robot adoption could raise the value of older warehouses
We are interested in how little a building might need to change, as much as in robot speed. If existing aisles and workstations remain usable, automation could require less investment in new facilities. Better robots might become a reason to keep older buildings in use.
