Claude combines chat and Cowork with documents and slides
On September 16, Anthropic announced the merger of Claude chat and Cowork, alongside Claude Docs and Slides for creating and editing materials within conversations.
The merger rolls out gradually, starting with Pro and Max. Creation features are in beta on paid plans, with Enterprise administrators controlling activation. Availability is not simultaneous for everyone.

People have traditionally switched tools for documents and presentations. We are interested in different outputs emerging from one conversation, potentially reducing the work of keeping them consistent.
But concentrating both materials and the thinking behind them in one service makes switching harder. Exporting work and its context may become a competitive issue alongside generation quality.
